August News

Greetings Incliners!

Thanks to everyone who attended our Patriotic Barbeque and enjoyed the music of Full Blast.  Unfortunately, we couldn’t be at Aspen Grove because of the weather, but we partied at the Chateau in our usual “Incliners” way!

On September 1st the new Board will take over so this will be my last newsletter as President.  It’s been so much fun to see the amazing outfits you all come up for each themed dinner and enjoy dancing the night away-or at least until 9:00pm!  Thank you to all our members who have participated and made this an awesome experience for me.

There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make these events successful.  I want to thank the current Board for their work and dedication this past year (and I am sure they would accept a drink at our next dinner from our grateful members):

Walter Beardsley-Vice President

Gabriela McKneely-Member at Large

Robin Beres-Secretary

Matt Kuckuk-Treasurer

Jim Beres-Membership and Website

Reservations-Sheri Best

Social Coordinator-Bibiana Beardsley

Charlene Temple-Decorations Coordinator

Kristie Wells-Past President

NOW it’s your turn; we are looking for someone to be Member at Large for the coming year.  Please consider volunteering for this important position-just email me at: info@incliners.org and we can have a chat about it.  Thank you!

Next up on August 4th we are headed to the Incline Recreation Center for Bocce Ball and Potluck starting at 4:30. There is no registration, just show up with something yummy to share.

Of course, August means that it’s time for our annual Car Show and Dinner. If you have a car that you want to show off, please CLICK HERE for more information and to register your vehicle.  Please note that you will also have to make a separate dinner registration when they are available; registering your car does not guarantee a dinner reservation.  This is a very popular event so mark your calendars for August 18th.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

Other important information:

It’s golf season plus we have been at capacity for our dinners, so that means parking at the Chateau is limited.  This is a great time to carpool with friends-with the bonus of only needing one designated driver.

Dinner Reminders:

There has been a great turnout for our dinners, we have been reaching (or almost reaching) Chateau’s capacity almost every month.  We want everyone to have a wonderful time so here are a few reminders:

Deadline for Dinner Reservations

There is a firm deadline of Friday at noon the week before the catered dinner (For August, that will be Friday the 14th).  We must give the Chateau the final number on that day.  We have seen quite a few people who believe that they have registered but we have no reservation in our system.  When you make a reservation, you will receive an email verification; if you do not receive that email or have other questions, please contact: info@incliners.org.  This is the only way to get assistance, thank you!

Seating Etiquette for Dinners

Please remember that seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, and many attendees bring place cards to reserve their spots.  Please do not put name cards on the tables before 4:30pm. The decorating committee may not be finished and anything placed on the table before 4:30pm will be removed.

In August we will be outside for the first hour of the event for the car judging, doors open at 5:30 PM, and seats tend to fill quickly, so arriving early is the best way to secure your preferred spot. If you arrive after 6:00 PM, you may find limited availability, which can be frustrating.

To ensure everyone has a chance to enjoy the evening:

  • Limit seat reservations to six per table. This helps keep tables open and inviting for others.
  • If you have a group of eight or more, consider reserving seats at two adjacent tables. It’s a great way to enjoy time with your group while meeting new people.
  • Don’t have place cards? No problem! You can use a napkin, coat, or other personal item to mark your seat.

We pride ourselves on being a welcoming and inclusive community. By following these guidelines, we can make sure everyone feels comfortable, finds a seat, and connects with new friends. Need assistance? Our team is here to help—just ask!

Singles Group

We’re super excited to announce that our Incliners Singles Group is up and running.  To find out more about future events, please email Annie Clark: anniemclark@gmail.com. Quick reminder that this is an Incliners group, so all single members are welcome, and you can also bring a guest.  We will also have a Singles (or so-called Mingles) table at our Chateau dinner just for you!

Join our Facebook Group

You can see all the great pictures from our events, and we encourage you to create events of your own to socialize with fellow Incliners. You can join here:  Incliners | Facebook
